Baked King Crab Legs with Spicy Lemon Butter

Ooo-la-la isn’t it romantic? Crab legs made easy for your Valentine’s day feast! Smothered in spicy lemon butter, these crab legs are pre-cut to make eating with your boo a little less messy. I made the recipe for one, however, because you can treat yourself to this wonderful meal, or use it as an appetizer, too. Valentine’s day isn’t just for the couples! So before you go shying away from making seafood at home, this 25 minute recipe will have you thinking twice.

Ingredients: (double for 2)

1 lb King Crab legs, thawed

¾ stick butter, salted or unsalted depending on your salt preference

¾ T lemon juice

¼ – ½  tsp hot sauce

Pinch sugar

½ T chopped parsley

1 clove garlic, finely chopped

Smoked paprika

Black pepper

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Using scissors, cut crab into manageable chunks. Then cut lengthwise. Or, cut down the entirety of the shell so the meat peeks through. Place in baking dish and sprinkle with black pepper. Bake for 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, melt butter. Stir in hot sauce, garlic, lemon juice, sugar, and a dash or two of smoked paprika. Set aside.

Remove crab from oven and pour spicy lemon butter over it. Transfer crab to a serving dish and sprinkle with parsley and a bit more smoked paprika. Serve immediately with lemon slices, melted butter, and napkins. Enjoy!
